Abraham (A.L.), 89, and Pal Mira Newsom, 88, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15, 2008.
They were married Aug. 15, 1938, in Grayson.
She is the daughter of the late Charley and Mary Ann Palley Kersee.
He is the son of the late Oliver and Arminta Moore Newsom. He retired from the Semet Solvay in Ashland.
They are both active members of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Catlettsburg.
They are the parents of Peggy Duvall of Catlettsburg and Larry Newsom of Houston, Texas, and they have four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
