Mr. and Mrs. Monroe and Marjorie Horsley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 1, 2008.
They were married in Greenup by Keith Sipple on Nov. 1, 1958. Monroe is the son of the late Steve and Virgie (Royster) Horsley and Marjorie is the daughter of the late Wilburn and Beatrice (Green) Hall.
They attend Carter City Church of Christ.
Monroe worked as a carman at the C&O; Railroad while Marjorie stayed at home and took care of family and raised their two daughters, Doretha Bush and Peggy Baldridge. Then along came four grandchildren, Myka Bush, Shawna and her husband Steve McCormick, and Steven and Whitney Campbell, followed by two great-grandchildren, Elissa and Shelby McCormick.
A celebration was held with many friends and family members attending.
