Jefferson and Josephine Preece of Louisa will celebrate their 60th anniversary on Jan. 4, 2009.
They were married at First Baptist Church in Ashland on Jan. 4, 1949.
He is retired from the U.S. Corp of Engineers in the Huntington, W.Va., branch.
She has worked in retail sales in family businesses throughout the years.
They are the parents of two children, Janet Sue and Jeffery Michael, who both live in Louisa and they have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and are expecting their first great-great-grandchild in March.
Since retirement, they have enjoyed family, gardening and attending Southside Baptist Church services in Louisa.
