Paul Raymond and Dorothy Marie Griffith of Greenup marked 60 years of marriage on Jan. 31, 2009.
They were married at Greenup Christian Church with Joseph Zavadsky, minister, officiating the ceremony.
Paul is the son of the late Dennis and Mabel Craft Griffith. He is retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was the first letter carrier for the town of Greenup. Prior to that, he was in the automobile business with his father in Greenup. He has been a member of the Greenup Lions Club for more than 20 years, where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow by the Lions Club International and the Finis E. Davis Fellow from the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation. Both are for dedicated humanitarian service.
Dorothy is the daughter of the late Travis W. and Dorothy Dempsey Kendall. She is the library director for the Greenup County Public Libraries. She has been a member and officer of the Greenup Woman’s Club for more than 50 years and a charter member of the HASTC Board for the preservation of the McConnell House.
Both are lifelong residents of Greenup and both members of their respective churches for more than 60 years, he at the First Baptist Church and she at the Greenup Christian Church.
They are the parents of David (Nancy) Griffith of Raceland, Gary (Karen) Griffith of Greenup and Cheryl Griffith (Keith) Brammell of Grayson. They are the proud grandparents of Scott and Emily Griffith, Laura Donta and Darren Brammell and Kendall and Zachary Griffith.
