Salyers


Ersel and Juanita Salyers of Flatwoods will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on March 5.

The couple were married in Ashland by the Rev. Andrew Qualls on March 5, 1949.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he was on the USS Pugetsound. He was retired after 38 years of service from Allied Chemical Semet Solvay Division. He is a member of Straight Creek Church of the Nazarene. He is the son of the late Ben and Dora Salyers.

She was employed at Hope’s Laundry and is a housewife. She is the daughter of the late Fillmore and Carrie Meadows.

They are the parents of Richard (Sharon) Hall of Wurtland; Gary (Madelyn) Salyers of Ashland and Dan (Barbara) Salyers of Ashland and they have six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A reception in their honor will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Summit Church of the Nazarene in the fellowship hall.

All friends and relatives are urged to stop by and celebrate and share memories with the couple. No gifts please.
