Wilbur and Shirley Taylor celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were married on March 7, 1954, at Hoods Creek Freewill Baptist Church in Boyd County.
He is the son of the late Mitch and Claudia Taylor. He served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force as a weight and balance superintendent or loadmaster.
She is the daughter of the late Daniel and Tennie Greene and is a housewife, raising their two children as they traveled the world.
Their oldest child, son Kevin Taylor has given them two grandchildren, J.R. Taylor and Sabrina Taylor and their daughter, Lisa Abrams, has three children, Carlie Williams, Colton Bentley and Shiloh Abrams for a total of five grandchildren.
They retired in Greenup County so they could be close to their families in 1973.
The family is thankful to be celebrating this day with them and are looking forward to many more.
