Frank and Joy Lee Bryson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today.
The couple were married on June 14, 1959, by the late John Nixon at the Fullerton Christian Church in Fullerton.
He is the son of the late Frank and Norma Bryson of Fullerton. He is a retired educator, however, presently is adjunct at Ohio University Southern in the math department.
She is the daughter of the late Ralph and Sadie Evans of Fullerton. She is also retired, having worked in the areas of human resources and payroll.
They are the proud parents of three daughters and one son, Melisa Thompson and Anita Elliott of Russell, and Laura Allred of Burlington, N.C., and Frank Bryson III of Asheville, N.C.
They have eight grandchildren, Nathan and Samantha Rice, Ryan and Alyssa Thompson, Jessica and Joshua Elliott and Forrest and Foster Bryson.
Their children will host an open reception from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Family Life Center at Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods` on Saturday, June 27.
