Tom and Ruth Click Edmonds celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2009, at a family gathering at their daughter’s house in Ironton.
The couple were married at Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church on May 29, 1959.
He was an Ashland police officer for many years and retired from Sim Fryson.
Mrs. Edmonds was employed for many years at Parsons and retired from Watson’s Department Store. They both attend 13th Street Freewill Baptist Church.
They are the parents of Janetta (David) Salyers of Ashland, Ginger (Gary) Walker of South Point and Mellody Johnson (Jerry Hicks) of Ironton. They also have five grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Valdez, Ashley Walker, J.C. Kinney, Tommy Walker and Landon Johnson and two great-grandchildren, Alicia Valdez and Fenix Valdez.
