French and Shirley Profitt Maggard of Westwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 17, 2009.
The couple were married by Everett Slone in Westwood on June 17, 1959.
He is retired from Ak Steel and served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
She is employed at the Rose Hill Day Care.
They are members of Rose Hill Baptist Church and enjoy camping and doing charity work, where they work in the community kitchen and CAReS.
They are parents of Randall Maggard of Catlettsburg and Ron and Lyne Maggard of Wesley Chapel, Fla. They have four grandchildren Annie, Brad, Kevin and Taylor Maggard.
There will be a family gathering at Pigeon Forge, Tenn., hosted by their sons Ronald and Randall Maggard.
