Ronald and Donna Barker of Ashland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Buckhead Grill on the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio, a land and sea cruise to the Bahamas and a surprise trip from family to the Amish County in Holmes County, Ohio.
The couple were married by Elder Earley Rose on May 30, 1962, at Clintwood Baptist Church.
The Barkers have two daughters, Sheri (Kevin) Collins of Mason, Ohio, and Jill (Scott) Rigsby of Ashland. They have four grandsons, Christopher Collins of Lexington, Logan Collins of Mason, Ohio, and Trevor Rigsby and Connor Rigsby, both of Ashland.
Mr. Barker, the son of the late Robert and Imogene Delaney Barker, retired in 2002, with 37 years of service with AK Steel. Mrs. Barker, the daughter of the late Greene and Mollie Rose More, was an employee of Fairview Independent schools and retired in 2002 from Ashland Independent Schools.
