ASHLAND —
Harold and Barbara McKinney of Ashland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 29, 2012, with a dinner party and reception at the Chimney Corner in Ashland, hosted by their children and family friends, Mike and Samantha Rolen. Special guests of honor were the couple’s matron of honor and best man, Earl and Carolyn McKinney of Lexington.
The couple were married on Sept. 28, 1962, in Greenup County.
Mr. McKinney is the son of the late Fred and Magdalene McKinney of Grayson.
Mrs. McKinney is the daughter of the late Bill and Pauline Claxon of Oldtown.
The McKinneys are the parents of Paula Layne of Ashland and Mary McKinney of Flatwoods. They are the proud grandparents of Ashley, Phillip and Taylor Layne of Ashland.
Mr. McKinney retired from Armco Steel and is the founder and owner of McKinney Tire Warehouse in Russell. Mrs. McKinney worked as a registered nurse at the VA Hospital in Huntington and in Lexington. She retired as a nursing professor at Ashland Community and Technical College.
