William Eugene and Wanda Lee Clay Carter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 30, 2010, with their family.
They were married on Jan. 30, 1960, in Ashland.
He retired in 1971 with 20 years of service with the United States Army. He also retired in 1992 with 20 years of service with the Ashland Police Department.
She retired in 1998 from National City Bank.
They are both active members of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland. They enjoy spending time with family and friends. They also enjoy traveling and spending time in Florida with their family there.
They the parents of Keith Carter of Catlettsburg, Lee Ann Conley of Jacksonville, Fla., Diana Felty of Russell and Mendy Rakes and Stacy Caron, both of Ashland. They have 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
