CATLETTSBURG —
Arnold and Geneva Griffitts Marcum will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2012, at 5 p.m. at the old post office in Cattletsburg. For more details, call the family at (606) 465-3543.
The couple were married June 30, 1962, by the late Kelly McGraw.
The Marcums have four children: Arnold Jr. (Debbie) Marcum of Hamilton, Ohio, Celia (Emory) Stambough of Ashland, Greg (Annie) Marcum of Corbin and Patricia (Heath) Molina of Ashland. They have 10 grandchildren: Katie (Steven) Lunsford, Emily (Andy) Smith, Ashley Lohmiller, Tyler Marcum, Jessica (Matt) Van Winkle, Jeremy, Jasmine and Jared Stambough, and Zachary and Tanner Marcum; eight great-grandchildren: Dakota, Braydon and Kaelynn Lunsford, Kyra Smith, Maddison, Gabriel and twins, Caleb and Mathew Thomas Van Winkle.
Mr. Marcum served in the military for 11 years, with several tours overseas, including Korea, Germany and Paris. After 32 years of service, he retired from Whayne Supply Catepillar.
Mrs. Marcum, a homemaker, dedicated her life to her husband and children by providing a good Christian home. Her generosity and compassion has impacted many in the community, as she provided exceptional care to many in times of need.
