Ernest Pete and Andrea Sue McGuire Sparks of Ashland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15, 2009.

The couple were married at Cannonsburg Methodist Church on Aug. 15, 1959.

He is retired from AK Steel and she is retired from Kentucky Farmers Bank.

They have four children, David Sparks of Somerset, and Kathy Skaggs, Brian Sparks and Chris Sparks, all of Ashland and they have nine grandchildren.

The children will host a reception at Central Freewill Baptist Church in Huntington.
