ASHLAND —
Jefferson Preece and Julia Josephine (Miller) Preece celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary recently.
They were married Jan. 4, 1947, at First Baptist Church in Ashland and traveled to Huntington to attend a movie and spend the first night of their married life.
Preece served in the U.S. Army and was discharged when he was 20 years old. He purchased his bride’s wedding ring from Moore Jewelry and Appliance Store.
