ASHLAND —
Robert and Betty Hancock Davis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22, 2012, in Georgetown, with a reception hosted by their children.
The couple were married Sept. 22, 1962, at Dehaven Baptist Church in LaGrange.
Mr. Davis retired from Ashland Oil, Inc. as vice president of SuperAmerica. Mrs. Davis retired from teaching. She taught at Verity, Putnam, Paul G. Blazer in Ashland, and Dixie Magnet and Bryan Station in Lexington. They lived in Ashland for 20 years; Lexington for 10 years; Sarasota, Fla., for 12 years; and the last two years they spent their summers in Georgetown and winters in Sarasota.
The Davises have four children, Lisa Robinson (Bill), Suzanne Lusby (David), Donna McCallister (Tyler) and John David Davis (Kristen). They have 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and another due in December.
The couple enjoy spending time with their family, traveling, quilting and gardening.
