ASHLAND —
Steve and Deborah Akers celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Feb. 17, 2013.
The couple were married Feb. 17, 1973, at First Christian Church in South Shore.
The Akers’ are members of Bridges Christian Church and enjoy spending time with their family. Their goal is to travel the United States promoting healthy living to improve the lives of others as they build a lasting love and friendship with one another.
Their children are Kathi Byrd and her husband, Major Malcolm Byrd, of Wetumpka, Ala., and Anna Clarke and her husband, Kelly Clarke, of Raceland. They have three grandchildren, Elijah Byrd, Amelia Clarke and Adelyn Clarke.
