OLBH honored as Fit-Friendly Company

Russell — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital has been honored as a Platinum-Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association’s Start! movement for helping employees eat better and move more.

It’s the second straight year OLBH has received platinum level recognition. OLBH is the only company in the region to receive the status.

Platinum-level employers:

‰offer employees physical activity options in the workplace

‰increase healthy eating options at the worksite

‰promote a wellness culture in the workplace

‰implement at least nine criteria outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and culture

‰demonstrate measurable outcomes related to workplace wellness

“We’re committed to providing the best workplace environment possible by promoting physical activity and employee wellness at OLBH,” Kevin Halter, OLBH CEO, said. “We are honored and excited to be recognized by the American Heart Association’s Start! movement as a Platinum-Level Start! Fit-Friendly Company for the second straight year. By focusing on the health of our employees, we also impact the health of families and the health of our community.”

OLBH offers zumba, Weight Watchers, smoking cessation, walking programs and other “get fit”-related opportunities to its employees.
