South Point — Small-business operators interested in doing business with the Wayne National Forest and U.S. Department of Agriculture are invited to a workshop presented by the Southern Ohio Procurement Outreach Center.
The Ohio River Basin Acquisition Team purchases supplies, services and construction for a total of seven Forest Service locations in six states. Regionally, the forest has offices in Marietta, Nelsonville and Pedro.
During the Oct. 15 session in South Point, members of the team will discuss details of the contracting process, including finding opportunities, the bid process and working with local contacts.
The workshop will be helpful for small businesses considering expansion into the government contracting arena.
The three-hour workshop will be presented at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, 216 Collins Ave., South Point, OH 45680.
Registration is $5 and includes refreshments. To register, e-mail sopoc@zoominternet.net or call (740) 377-4550.
