Midtown Ponderosa closing, employees say

ASHLAND — Employees of a longtime Ashland midtown restaurant received some bad news on Christmas Day.

Pondersoa Steakhouse management told employees that the restaurant would be closing after Tuesday’s shift, employees said.

The restaurant has been a staple in Ashland’s midtown area for decades although it hasn’t always been a Ponderosa. It was also a Bonanza Steakhouse and was originally called King’s Table.

Employees of Ponderosa Steakhouse were openly telling patrons Christmas would be the last day of operation for the restaurant, which was popular for its buffet and banquet meeting room.
