ASHLAND —
Is there anything more fun than shopping with a group of women couponers? If there is, I haven’t found it.
We found many bargains, and learned how CVS worked. What a nice store and wonderful people! They were so nice to us.
We received free candy and free nail polish. Great deals on razors, paper towels, Colgate, and Hershey Bars, too. When we were leaving, they even brought out some great clearence items, including some very nice toys to put away for Christmas. They were all under $4, and mine had an original price of $29 on the box.
Thank you, CVS of Flatwoods. We all agree we love this store.
Classes are signing up at ACTC for the end of October, and I think word is getting around about how much fun we have.
Here’s a fun one: Do you remember when I asked you not to buy the Tide Pods because there never was a coupon for them and it wasn’t that good a buy? Tide has finally decided they weren’t selling well. The test is over. We aren’t going to buy them unless they produce a coupon and a good sale. So, today they finally have it. You have a 50-cent coupon on Tide Pods in today’s newspaper and a great sale at CVS, limit one.
Buy extra newspapers, as we hope they will push these during the entire month. Thank you for not buying at the nearly $5 mark. How does $2.94 sound?
Pick’N Save’s website has a really good idea for their store. Not only do they double to 50 cents, they take anything over 50 cent coupons to $1. Their website has such interesting savers as “My Recipe Box,” where you can save recipes from this site that you like. It has suggestions for leftovers, such as chicken and making two meals from one dinner.
Leftovers are usually something no one likes. Make a totally different meal from the leftovers. They have personalized specials to suit your family’s needs, all designed to save you money. There are recipes for the groceries you buy this week. I’m going to love this website and this store. Hopefully, because of what they are doing with the coupons, other stores will have to follow suit. Competition is the spice of life.

It was a trip to Minneapolis that my wife and I had been planning for more than two years. But since our journey to Minnesota was a leisurely one, we took our time for side trips: a Cincinnati Reds game; a visit to the graves of my parents, paternal grandparents and an aunt and uncle in a small cemetery near Jeffersonville, Ohio; a mini-family reunion at my niece’s home near New Holland, Ohio; a drive to Warsaw, Ind., to help my wife climb her family tree on her father’s side.
