Two men and a woman were arrested by Ashland police on Sunday for attempting to steal merchandise from JCPenney valued at more than $1,100.
The men were charged with theft, but Rhonda D. Thacker of Betsy Lane was charged with theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of three separate legend drugs. The two men were charged with theft only.
The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Omni Muffler reported the theft of three automobile transmissions from the business. The thefts occurred Tuesday. The transmissions were valued at $150.
A woman living in the 2900 block of Bath Avenue reported the theft of a flat screen TV and an XBox 360 with controllers, together valued at $850.
Walmart reported the theft of $20.28 in merchandise on Wednesday.
A man living in the 900 block of 19th Street reported the theft of a vehicle battery, valued at $85, from his vehicle on Thursday. The man also reported damage of $200 to the wire harness. The theft occurred while the car was parked on the lot of Phillips Auto.
A Smith & Wesson M&P 40, valued at $550, was reported stolen by an Ashland man living in the 2100 block of 21st Street on Friday. The firearm was stolen from the center console of a rental car.
A Wurtland woman was arrested on Dec. 20 for stealing $133.10 in merchandise from Walmart.
An Ashland man living in the 2500 block of Elm Street reported a laptop valued at $800 was stolen from his home on Friday. He gave police the name of a suspect.
An Ashland man reported the theft of a guitar valued at $300 from his business in the 1500 block of Winchester Avenue. A suspect was provided to police.
Rack Room Shoes reported the theft of $259.98 in merchandise on Saturday. A juvenile was named as a suspect.
A man living in the 2850 block of Winchester Avenue reported the title of his vehicle, a 2002 Ford Taurus, was stolen on Saturday. The title is valued at $20. Police were provided with a suspect.
On Sunday, an Ashland woman reported the theft of a black Coach purse and wallet, debit and Social Security cards and makeup, all valued at $200, from her unsecured car.
An Ashland man reported $20 in cash and a GPS valued at $220 were stolen from his automobile on Monday.
On Monday, a woman reported a camouflaged wallet containing a debit card and four store credit cards stolen. The value was $25.
An Ashland woman reported Tuesday that her brown purse with contents, including her social security card, identification, debit card, keys, money and receipts, along with a jacket, were stolen from an unsecured locker in the 500 block of Winchester Avenue. The items were valued at $250.
An Ashland man reported a GPS device and a socket set, together valued at $150, were stolen from his unlocked vehicle in the 2100 block of Mantz Street on Monday.
An Ashland man living in the 2900 block of Central Avenue reported the theft of $235 in cash and debit and gift cards from his home on Monday. The man told police he suspects his sister stole the items.
Park Place Rentals reported the theft of cooper plumbing valued at $355 from a vacant rental property in the 1300 block of Cypress Street.
A man living in the 4700 block of Boyd Street reported his residence was broken into and items including a laptop, jewelry, 225 movies, change and legal custody papers, all valued at $9,150, were stolen from his home on Saturday.
A man reported the theft of a television and children’s toys, valued at $968, from his home in the 2400 block of Garfield Avenue on Monday. Police were given the names of three suspects.
Wildcat Warehouse reported the theft of $7,149 in cash and a Walmart safe briefcase, valued at $20, from the business on Monday.
An Ashland woman reported $600 in damages were done to her vehicle while it was parked in the 500 block of Winchester Avenue on Sunday.
