ASHLAND —
Jeff and Nancy Elkins of Ironton are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melanie Dawn Elkins, to Michael Keith Asbury, son of Keith and Debbie Asbury of Circleville, Ohio.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ironton High School and is a senior at Marshall University. She is the granddaughter of Helen Schafer Bruce and the late Charles Bruce of Ironton and the late John and Cathryn Long Elkins of Ashland.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Teays Valley High School in Ashville, Ohio, graduated from Ohio State University in 2005 and is a former U.S. Navy officer. He is employed by Marathon Petroleum Co. He is the grandson of Tom and Mabel Hawkins of Hilliard, Ohio, and the great-grandson of Dorothy Gilkerson of Huntington.
The exchange of vows will be in May at First United Methodist Church in Ironton, followed by a reception at the Crump and Field ballroom in Ashland.
