Two-state concept has been tried

The two-state concept for the Arabs and Jews has already been tried. How many more states needs to be set up? The real issue is to destroy Israel.

The Balfour Declaration of 1917 states, “His Majesty’s Government views with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national homeland for the Jewish people ...” True to form, this didn’t set well with the Arabs.

In 1921, Britain capitulated and gave an estimated 78 percent of the designated land east of the Jordan River to the Hashemites. May 25, 1946, Jordan received its independence.

May 14, 1948, the state of Israel was established with the remaining 22 percent of the land and was quickly acknowledged by President Harry Truman thereby blocking the United Nations’ Resolution 181 to stop Israel from becoming a Jewish state.

Now they want to carve Israel up again, and this week King Abdullah of Jordan had the audacity to demand a two-state solution.

The two-state issue is not going to happen, or if it does, it will only be a brief interlude. Jesus was lifted up into Heaven from Jerusalem and promised to return in like manner. The Moslems are looking for a messiah, but not ours.

President Bush forced Israel to give away Gaza for peace. Gaza is now a launching site to strike Israel, thereby murdering innocent people. Israel then gets criticized for defending itself. With the fool in Iran and the Moslem terrorists’ agenda to also wipe us out, we may learn first hand how this feels.

The politicians are insane. Definition: Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

We’re under judgment as evidenced by the economy and catastrophes. It appears the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are galloping across the nations of the world.

Kids collecting items for pets

For the 10th consecutive year, students at Oakview Elementary are observing National Pet Month by collecting items for use by animals at the Boyd County Animal Control Center.

Through May 29, students are collecting old towels, sheets and blankets, shampoo and brushes, dry food, toys, rawhide chews and treats and other items — either old or new — that animals could use

Hillary Clinton is making world safer

One year ago my wife and I traveled across Kentucky asking voters to place their faith and trust in Hillary Rodham Clinton for president. Little did we know that the long road of political endeavors would lead us all to something truly monumental.

Clinton was embraced by Kentuckians from every region. In meeting with people of all walks of life, we witnessed her passion for America and helping those in need.

President Obama won the Democratic Party nomination; Hillary joined his campaign and helped him gather support to become the 44th president. Upon President Obama’s historic election, he placed in Hillary the same trust and faith that the voters of Kentucky gave her. By nominating Hillary as his secretary of state, she would implement the President's foreign policies.

On Jan. 21, Hillary Rodham Clinton was sworn in as the 67th secretary of state. In her first 100 days, she has visited 22 countries. In every country she visits, Hillary has shown the same warmth that she brought here to Kentucky.

Shining on the world’s stage, Secretary Clinton is on a quest to make our world a safer place. She has facilitated the beginning engagements with Iran at the Hague and opened dialogue with Syria. She named Senator George Mitchell as special envoy to the Middle East.

As the father of five daughters, I’m proud to see her continue her fight for important global issues like women’s rights and human rights. She has continued to speak out on human trafficking, the need for pay equality for women and she has pledged America’s commitment to fight poverty.

She came to Kentucky with a love for America, and wanted the chance to make America a better place.
