On behalf of the I Believe Foundation, I thank some local businesses for their donations. I Believe sponsors various activities adapted for special-needs children and is currently working to acquire property to house our events. A silent auction is planned for 2010

The Music Box Express on Winchester Avenue, owned by Randy Ackerson, donated an Indian Scout acoustic guitar and case that will be autographed. Jake Parsons, owner of Jake’s Gun & Pawn on Greenup Avenue has donated a Washburn acoustic guitar for the same purpose. The Paramount Arts Center is helping us acquire signatures from artists.

Thanks to this generous help, we’re well on our way to having some great items for the silent auction and being able to greatly expand our services to special-needs children in our area.

Ann Lunsford, I Believe Foundation

On behalf of the Greenup Lions Club, I thank all who helped make our recent 30th annual horse show a success. Without the help of our many volunteers and small businesses throughout the area, this show couldn't have happened.

We especially appreciate the volunteers from City National Bank and Goodwill of Greenup for their dedication. A special thanks also goes to David Moore of Protective Technologies for the sound system.

We also appreciate Larry Reed for his work in preparing the fairgrounds for the show and also the volunteers from the Greenup Drug Court program for their help. Kenny Imel once again helped greatly by providing decorations for the show as he has does for so many years.

And, of course, we appreciate the exhibitors, spectators and participants for their part in making our 30th show a special one.

Steve Miller, president, Greenup Lions Club, Greenup
