ASHLAND —
Church’s drama dedicated to youth
It happens so fast and so unexpectedly. Someone you know or love dies suddenly. Your heart is broken and so many things run through your mind.
Last year Temple Baptist Church presented the drama “Heaven’s Gates & Hell’s Flames” which has been seen around the world. The cast was made up of many people in our church who gave countless hours of their time asking one question: Where will you spend eternity? More specifically, will you spend eternity in Heaven with Jesus or in the deep pit of Hell? Many decisions were made last year and plans were soon made to bring this production back again.
Then it happened. One of our own young men died in a tragic four-wheeler accident. Tyler Baldridge was only 15 years old when his life on earth ended. Last year he was one of the cast members of “Heaven’s Gates & Hell’s Flames.” Today he is happy and whole and knows the beauty of spending the ages with God. Although he is sadly missed, his family and loved ones know he had settled the question in his heart and soul. He knew where he would spend eternity and he wanted others to know the joy he had found.
But how about you? Do you know that joy? Can you sleep peacefully tonight and know what will happen to you if your life ended suddenly? In memory of Tyler Baldridge, Temple Baptist Church will again present the drama “Heaven's Gates & Hell's Flames” August 22-24 at 6 p.m.0 on Sunday and at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. The church is located on Reid Street (Short Hollow Road) in Flatwoods. I hope you, your family and friends will join us for one or all of the performances.
Things happen quickly. Are you ready?
Dorothy McClanahan, Flatwoods
