Phil provides happy change of pace

In today’s world we are constantly bombarded by negative news whether it be local, regional or national. But waiting on Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog, to see if he sees his shadow is a welcome change of pace.

Many folks faithfully show up on Gobbler’s Knob to see Phil make his appearance, an annual family tradition for many.

While no one can estimate the following of this little groundhog, it’s certainly good to read a story with a happy spin and change of pace for at least one day — even though Phil predicted six more weeks of winter.

I noticed in Tuesday’s newspaper (Feb. 2) that there was no coverage of the Louisville-Connecticut game, not even the score.

There is more than one college team in Kentucky. I would love to see Kentucky and Louisville play again. Maybe it would be a different score this time.

Go Louisville!
