Words of Thanks — 10/17/09

CAReS has always regarded our area pharmacies as great friends. We rely on them for so much and they are all willing to help when the call goes out.

Gallaher’s Pharmacy is one of these friends. The pharmacists and their staff have always been available to us when we needed information or supplies.

This month, however, they stepped up and helped CAReS with a generous donation of needed personal necessities. The impact of this donation will be far reaching and CAReS is sincerely grateful.

CAReS thanks Gallaher’s Pharmacy for their unending willingness to come to our aid.

Ruth Ellen Chaney, Board chairperson, Community Assistance and Referral Services

I was in an accident a few weeks ago. I was taking my granddaughter to work at the Waffle House. It was raining, and as we waited at the red light near Armco Park, another car hit my car in the rear and knocked it across the intersection and over to a service station.

A nice lady called 911 and noticed my granddaughter’s name on her uniform. She called Waffle House for her and stayed with us until help came. I’m sorry that I did not get her name, but I want her to know that I really appreciated her concern and help.

Caring for one’s health is an important part of life. Even the most dedicated people find times when assistance is needed in a effort to regain skills and simply obtain the best care possible.

The staff at Kingsbrook Rehabilitation and Life Care Center offers that and much more. With an atmosphere of encouragement, everyone responds favorably from residents to family members.

From doctors, administrators, nursing staff, physical and occupational therapy, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance, we witness all employees working together for the benefit of residents.

Thank you, Kingsbrook!

On another issue, we express our warm thanks to folks in the Tri-State for allowing us to provide music for weddings, receptions and other occasions during the past 25 years. It’s been a pleasure and a delight.

We finished our last wedding at a local church on Oct. 10. Thanks again.

Kathleen Chamis, Ashland
