Words of thanks — 12/19/09

As the director of the Ashland Child Development Center, I express my sincere appreciation to the following businesses for their kind donations to our staff annual Christmas Party. With the economy being major factor in donations, I was most moved with the generosity of each contributor. Their thoughtfulness was most appreciated.

Businesses that donated were Wal-Mart, Ponderosa Steak House, Pizza Hut, Golden Coral, China Wok, China Gourmet, Penn Station, Giovanni’s, Gatti-Land, Texas Roadhouse, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Fiesta Bravo, Kroger, El Colonal Mexican Restaurant, Belle Fonte Italian Restaurant, Zanzi’s Pizza, Domino’s Pizza, Papa John’s Pizza, KFC, Captain D’s, Chimney Comer Cafe, C.J. Maggie's American Grill, Bob Evans and Crisp Dairy Treat.

I again thank them for their generosity and wish each one a “Merry Christmas” and a “Happy New Year.”

I express sincere gratitude to everyone who gave so fervently during the difficult journey and loss of our family member, Billy “Mike” Caudill.

They include King’s Daughters Medical Center and the staff, especially the oncology unit; Dr. Sangeeta Patel for the sincere empathy expressed; the wonderful caring staff of Dr. David Goebel who shared our journey; Dr. Jeffrey Lopez and staff who offered hope; Dr. Bjom Thorarinsson; Hospice Community Care; Raceland Christian Church, Pastor Jim and the extended church family; each family member and friend who visited, called, sent cards, held our hands, sat quietly, brought food, gifts, prayer and love.

We couldn’t have made it on this journey without these kind people. We will not forget al they have done and all they have been to us.

Margie Caudill, for the family of Billy “Mike” Caudill, Flatwoods
