‘Caring Through Holidays’ set
ASHLAND - The workshop “Caring Through the Holidays,” a workshop for families dealing with dementia, will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the main branch of the Boyd County Public Library, 1740 Central Ave.
The program will teach tips and strategies for making the holidays more enjoyable by minimizing stress and frustration. Specific topics will include travel, maintaining a routine, facilitating communication and knowing when to say “no” to others.

Ballroom dancing dates upcoming
HUNTINGTON - Dick Newman’s 2012 Dancing will continue from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Nov. 9 and 30 and Dec. 14 at the Junior League Ballroom, 617 Ninth Ave.
The cost is $7.50 a person. Attendees may bring a treat for a chance at the door prize.
