GRAYSON —
The Heart of the Parks Project (HOPP) continues with guitar lessons, creative writing and drawing/illustration sessions.
Jim Shope instructs creative writing, giving insights into what color of paper to use and how to develop a character. The next session will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the library in Grayson.
Musician Randy Satterfield has students strumming chords from noon until 1 p.m. Saturdays at the library in Grayson .
Also, participants in the drawing/illustration class are choosing subjects to focus on, including historical buildings, the EK railroad’s “blue goose,” beautiful stained glass windows from local churches and the dough boy statue. The next drawing class will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Grayson Gallery and Art Center.
A mural painting workshop is planned in April to teach the skills needed to take a painting and enlarge it for a mural and information on what type of preparation and materials are needed for the mural to withstand the weather.
Final Friday will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Grayson Gallery and Art Center at 301 E. Third St. For more information, call (606) 922-0927.
