Coalton — The play “Two Rooms” will be performed tonight, Saturday and Sunday at the Boyd County Fairgrounds.
Morehead State junior theater major Nathan Wellman, a 2007 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, will be producing and directing the play that was written by Lee Blessing.
There are four actors in the play, including Wellman.
“Two Rooms” is a play that follows a woman named Lainie, her husband Michael who was a teacher in Beruit who has been kidnapped by Shiite terrorists. Lainie takes one of the rooms in her house and remodels it like she thinks his room in the Middle East would look to feel close to him.
“There’s a lot of imaginery conversations” between Lainie and her husband, Wellman said. Another woman, named ellen, works for the government and tells Lainie she needs to remain quiet and let them do their job. Meanwhile, a reporter name Michael, played by Wellman, wants her to do the exact opposite.
“It’s about the conflict she experiences,” Wellman said.
With Wellman also acting, Sarah Beth Robinette will also be directing.
The performance tonight starts at 7. The performance on Saturday will be at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults.
