Nine examined after bus crash

Fleming County bus carrying 23 students overturns Tuesday

Flemingsburg — Eight high school students and a bus driver in northeastern Kentucky were examined at a hospital Tuesday morning after the bus ran off the road and turned on its side, officials said.

Three students and the driver were taken to the Fleming County Hospital for observation immediately after the accident, Fleming County Superintendent Kelly Crain said. The others were sent to the hospital after being examined by a school nurse, Crain said.

The driver and eight students examined at the hospital were in good condition, said Joyce Fidler, a hospital spokeswoman.

There were 23 students aboard the bus when the accident happened, Crain said.

The bus ran off Ky. 111 in Fleming County about 7:30 a.m., state police said. The cause of the accident was still under investigation.
