POLICE BEAT: $20K stolen from American Legion

ASHLAND The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department records:

Burglary

—$20,000 in cash was stolen from the American Legion Post 76 on 20th Street in Ashland sometime between 11 p.m. Tuesday night and 4 a.m. Wednesday.

No suspect information was provided on the police report.

—A woman reported $458 in computer hardware and software was stolen from her home on the 2800 block of Forest Avenue sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The items were recovered undamaged. There was no arrest made in the case.

—A woman reported her house on the 3100 block of Bath Avenue was broken into sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Suspect information was given. No arrest was made.

Theft

—A man reported $300 in clothes and $50 in tools were stolen from his car sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle was parked outside the man’s residence on the 600 block of 16th Street.

Also, $300 in damage was done to the vehicle.

No suspect information was listed.

—A woman reported her purse was stolen at the Speedway on Lexington Avenue Tuesday at 6 p.m.

According to the report, $949 in valuables were taken.

No suspect information was listed.

Possession

—Melissa McCloud, of the 2900 block of Winchester Avenue, was arrested Tuesday morning for second-degree possession of a controlled substance. The report alleged McCloud had crack cocaine in her possession.
