Sciotoville — A single vehicle accident took the life of a South Shore man on Sunday.
James W. Adkins Jr., 43, was driving south on Ohio 335 at 9:11 a.m. when he drove off the right side of the roadway in a left curve. He overcorrected and drove off the side side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The truck then overturned down an embankment, partially ejecting Adkins, who was not wearing a seat belt.
Adkins was transported to Southern Ohiio Medical Center by Minford Squad 3. The accident remains under investigation by Sgt. Shane Salyers of the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
