GREENUP — A Greenup County grand jury has indicted a woman and two men for allegedly committing multiple sex crimes against two young children.
Christina R. St. Clair, 29, and Buford I. Henderson, 40, both of South Shore; and Dustin R. Wood, 22, of Portsmouth, all were charged with first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse in true bills that were handed up recently.
The alleged crimes involved two girls younger than 12, identified only by their initials in court documents.
Under Kentucky law, first-degree sodomy is a Class A felony when it involves a child under 12, meaning each of the defendants could be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison if they are convicted.
The alleged incidents occurred between Jan. 1, 2005, and Jan. 23, 2007, according to court records.
St. Clair, also known as Christina Craft and Christina Renea Lail, was charged with six counts of sodomy and four counts of sexual abuse. The indictment alleges she engaged in “deviate sexual intercourse” with the children herself, through the use of forcible compulsion, and forced them to engage in such behavior with both Henderson and Wood.
St. Clair also is accused of sexually abusing the girls by subjecting them to sexual contact with Wood and Henderson.
Henderson and Wood both are charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Henderson also is charged with first-degree persistent felony offender.
The relationship between the three defendants was not immediately clear.
A grand jury indictment is a formal accusation of a crime and does not establish guilt.
