Police Beat: Stewart's reports break-in

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Burglary

-Stewart’s Original Hot Dogs, 205 Town Center Drive, reported Thursday that $1,100 cash had been stolen in a break-in, and that its building had sustained an esimated $250 damage.

- A man living in the 1900 block of Weymouth Drive reported Wednesday that jewelry, clothing and other items, worth an estimated $7,594, were stolen in a break-in at his house.

-Jon S. Simpkins, of the 1100 block of Dale Renee Drive, was arrested Wednesday in connection with a residential burglary in the 300 block of Harrison Street. The victim of that break-in told police that clothing valued at $40 had been taken. Police also served warrants charging Simpkins with three counts of failure to appear in court.

Theft

-A woman living in the 700 block of Birch Street on Wednesday reported the theft of jewelry valued at $3,000.

Shoplifting

-Men from Ironton Flatwoods and Russell were arrested Wednesday in separate shoplifting incidents at Wal-Mart. The three were charged with taking merchandise valued at $73.58, $20.94 and $19.97, respectively.
