Riddle named Miss Softball

LEXINGTON — Rowan County's Amber Riddle has been named the 2009 Kentucky Miss Softball by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. The senior had a .560 batting average with 19 home runs and 75 RBI for the Lady Vikings, who reached the 16th Region finals before falling to Ashland.

Riddle, who has signed with Morehead State, will receive her award at the East-West All-Star series on Saturday at the University of Kentucky softball complex.

Ashland's Katelyn Miller, a sophomore pitcher, was an honorable mention selection.
