R/C car reported stolen in burglary

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Burglary

A resident of the 1900 block of Belmont Street on Saturday reported someone entered his residence and stole a radio-controlled car valued at $1,000.

Dee’s Real Estate, 320 25th St., on Wednesday reported someone had forced open the front door of the business, entered and removed three flat-panel computer monitors and a laptop computer, with a total value of $907.

Shoplifting

Tri-State Pawn and Jewelry, 4250 Winchester Ave., on Sunday reported a man had removed a Craftsman impact driver valued at $90 from the sales floor, presented it to a sales clerk as his own and then left the store with it after telling employees he had decided not to sell it.

A 38-year-old man, whose address was listed as homeless, was arrested Sunday at Walmart for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $28.88.

Not guilty plea in death of Boyd baby
A Powell County teenager accused in the beating death of an infant pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday.
Brett T. Thompson, 18, of Stanton was arraigned Friday in Boyd County Court.
Thompson has been indicted in the death of 2-month-old Alivia Noel Worstell of Westwood. He was the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, Heather Worstell, 19.
