ASHLAND —
A Greenup County woman was killed in a wreck in Floyd County last week, state police said in a news release issued Monday.
Linda Stambaugh, 64, of Russell, was trying to make a U-turn on Ky. 3. When she re-entered the westbound lane, her car was hit by a 1993 Jeep Cherokee, state police said.
Stambaugh was pronounced dead at the scene. The wreck happened Nov. 15, according to the release.
No information was provided on the driver of the Jeep.
Contract awarded for bridge repair
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet today awarded a contract to Evers Welding Co. Inc. of Cincinnati to repair Ashland’s damaged 12th Street bridge.
