ASHLAND —
An Ashland man was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with trafficking heroin after he allegedly sold the drugs to a police informant. Steven A. Payton, 22, of Ashland is charged with 1st degree trafficking of a controlled substance and is being lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
According to police Payton sold two grams of heroin to a confidential informant working for the Boyd County Department Drug Task Force for $350. Deputies then executed a search warrant and located heroin and a large amount of cash at Payton's residence in the 2100 block of Belmont Street.
