Dish Network customers could lose Fox Thursday

ASHLAND — A television programming dispute between Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns Charleston's Fox affiliate, and Dish Network has arisen.

The companies are negotiating over a soon-to-expire agreement that allows the satellite TV provider to carry programming from 70 television stations that Sinclair provides service to or owns, including WVAH (channel 11).

The agreement expires at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, and both sides are suggesting a deal might not be reached in time and the stations will be pulled from Dish Network.

These contracts set the fees that cable and satellite TV providers pay broadcast stations to include their signals in channel lineups.
