2 stabbings reported to APD

Police reports, 7/24/12

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Assault

‰Police arrested a man on a felony assault charge early Saturday morning following a fight at Vincent Apartments that culminated in another man being stabbed in the back.

Terrance R. Porter, 26, of Vincent Apartments, was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center on a charge of first-degree assault.

The incident occurred about 1 a.m. Porter confessed to stabbing the other man, the APD said.

‰A man was stabbed in the leg Saturday during a fight in the 200 block of Fleming Court, police said.

The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. Police have a suspect, but no one had been arrested as of Monday.

Fleeing, evading

‰A 19-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly leading police on a chase on a motorcycle.

In addition to fleeing and evading, Clarence M. Copley of Ashland was charged with reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign, improper passing, no insurance and no motorcycle operator’s license.

Theft

‰Canteen Vending, 3406 Winchester Ave., recently reported the theft of $4,552.13 in cash from vending machines and cash bags. The company told police the thefts occurred between June 5 and July 21.

‰A man on Friday reported his wallet, which had $70 cash in it, and a portable DVD player were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 3200 block of Park Street.

‰A man reported Friday that a phone headset, a Nintendo Game Boy and various other items were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 2700 block of Winchester Avenue.

‰A resident of the 1300 block of Morningside Drive last week reported the theft of blank checks, which she told police had been forged on her account and cashed.

‰A resident of the 4800 block of Williams Avenue on Friday reported his keys had been stolen from his vehicle.

‰A man living in the 2400 block of Clinton Street on Friday reported the theft of $570 cash from his residence.

‰A resident of the 200 block of 31st Street on Saturday reported the theft of $30 cash.

‰A man on Saturday reported six rods and reels and a tackle box filled with assorted fishing tackle were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in the 2700 block of Montgomery Avenue.

‰A man on Saturday reported having $50 stolen from him by a woman who asked him for change for a $50 bill, took his money, but gave him no money in return. The incident occurred in the 900 block of 29th Street.

‰A resident of the 1400 block of Cypress Street on Saturday reported the theft of an air compressor.

‰A man living in the 3600 block of 13th Street on Sunday reported the theft of a floor jack and a car battery.

Burglary

‰A resident of the 3300 block of Bath Avenue last week reported a radial arm saw was stolen in a break-in at his residence.

‰A man living in the 7100 block of New Vista last week reported a weed trimmer was stolen in a burglary his home.

‰Someone broke into a building in the 300 block of Ringo Street prior to Sunday and removed copper wiring and plumbing.

‰A woman living in the 4700 block of Blackburn Avenue on Friday reported her home had been burglarized. The victim told police she wasn’t sure what had been stolen.

‰A man living in the 2800 block of Terrace Boulevard on Saturday reported someone had broken into his garage and removed a toolbox and tools.

‰A resident of the 4900 block of Winchester Avenue on Saturday reported someone broke into his home and stole a laptop computer, desk-top computer and 32-inch LCD TV.

‰32nd Street Used Tires, 111 32nd St., on Saturday reported someone had broke into the business and made off with $468 cash.
