A Rush woman was admitted to King’s Daughters Medical Center after she was extracted from a mini van submerged in a creek near Trace Road.
Barbara Groves, 64, of Rush, was traveling west on Trace Road and lost control of her Toyota mini van in the 1800 block, according to a report from the Boyd County Sheriff’s Department. The incident took place at a little past 4 p.m.
The van came to rest in a creek bed that completely submerged her vehicle, according to the report.
Groves was extracted from her vehicle by the East Fork Volunteer Fire Department, according to the report. She was transported to KDMC by Boyd County EMS.
According to information obtained late Monday, Groves had been discharged from the KDMC emergency department.
The van was removed from the creek with the assistance of the Ashland Fire Department Dive Team, according to the report.
The incident is under investigation.
