ASHLAND —
People who make Bob Evans restaurant a destination while in Ashland won’t have long to wait before they can again enjoy the food and atmosphere following an ongoing “refreshing” of the business, according to Bob Evans Area Coach Steve Zinn.
“We targeted Ashland a little ahead of schedule,” Zinn said, explaining the renovation and remodeling is part of a company-wide plan. “We’re refreshing the building with a redesign of the interior. We’re refreshing the uniforms of our employees and refreshing the Bob Evans tradition in Ashland.”
Zinn said the restaurant at 1224 Carter Ave. will again open at 6 a.m., March 3, adding he’s confident the restaurant’s team will meet the predicted schedule. “We’re right on target,” he said.
In addition to a new look, Zinn said customers will immediately find a new bakery as they enter the refreshed restaurant.
“We’re adding great products and options for the restaurant, work, home and parties,” he said.
The bakery will offer cookies and muffins among other baked goods, Zinn said, declining to list the new products to be available at the Ashland location.
Zinn encouraged anyone who wants to enjoy a meal from Bob Evans before the Ashland location is reopened to visit the restaurant along U.S. 60 in Cannonsburg.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” Zinn said, later confirming surplus materials from the Ashland restaurant will be donated to the nearby Habitat For Humanity Restore in Huntington.

Later this month, Hannah, a 19-year-old 2012 graduate of Raceland-Worthington High School, will launch what is essentially a one-man food drive. His goal: to collect at least 10,000 pounds of canned food for River Cities Harvest to distribute to local nonprofits and churches that help feed the hungry.
Hannah, who just completed his freshman year as a Bonner Scholar at Berea College, said scholars are encouraged, but not required, to do community projects designed to help the needy. -
