3 charged with Boyd burglary

CATLETTSBURG — A tip to the Boyd County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of three men who are believed to be responsible for a string in burglaries in Boyd County and Ashland.

Mike McClements, Gregory Stith and Eric Maddix were arrested and charged with burglary at a home on U.S. Route 60. The tipster told police the three men who broke into the house were driving a blue Jeep.

Deputies spotted the Jeep and followed it to a home where they questioned the men, who admitted to the crime.

The same vehicle is believed to be involved in other local burglaries, the sheriff’s office said. Other arrests and charges are pending.

The three were lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center.
