ASHLAND —
Kentucky State Police in Ashland arrested a Greenup County man after an investigation into illegal drug activity.
Frank W. Basenback, 25, of Flatwoods, was arrested Monday and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
The KSP received information Basenback was engaging in trafficking illegal prescription narcotics. Troopers and detectives conducted a controlled buy and bust operation.
Arrangements were made to purchase oxycodone prescription pills from Basenback. Contact was made and Basenback produced three oxycodone pills and completed an illegal transaction.
During the course of the investigation, search warrants were executed and more than $20,000 in cash was also seized.
Basenback is being lodged inthe Greenup County Detention Center.
