FLATWOODS —
Police on Wednesday arrested a Flatwoods man on methamphetamine-related charges.
William B. McCallister, 55, was lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center, charged with manufacturing meth and unlawful possession of meth precursors.
According to the FIVCO Area Drug Enforcement (FADE) Task Force, the arrest stemmed from a tip relayed by Raceland Police Chief Don Sammons that McCallister was involved in making meth and was staying at a home on E Street in Flatwoods. Sammons contacted the Flatwoods Police Department, which responded to the complaint.
Flatwoods officers located McCallister’s vehicle parked at an apartment complex on E Street and noticed a strong odor emanating from it. FADE was contacted, and detectives confirmed there were several “one-bottle” meth labs in the bed of the vehicle.
The Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit handled the cleanup.
