The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:
Robbery
‰A woman reported she was robbed in the 1800 block of Winchester Avenue early Wednesday morning.
The victim told police a man removed a chainsaw from the bed of her pickup truck and, when she confronted him, the man punched her in the nose and swung the saw at her, causing cuts to her left hand and arm.
The incident occurred at 3:45 a.m., the APD said.
Impersonation
‰A woman told police she was vicitimized by a man impersonating a police officer.
The woman said she was pulled over at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of Winchester Avenue by a man with a blue “bubble” light on his vehicle. The man came up to her car and asked to see her license, and, when she showed it to him, he grabbed it, along with $240 cash.
Endangerment
‰The APD is investigating an incident where a man allegedly shot off a mortar firework in front of the Kentucky National Guard Armory, damaging the building.
The incident occurred at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. According to the APD, the firework struck a window on the front of the building, cracking it.
Theft
‰A resident of the 1100 block of Bath Avenue on Tuesday reported the theft of a welder and acetylene tanks, a carpet shampooer and various tools, all valued at $564, from his back porch.
Criminal mischief
‰A man on Monday reported someone did approximately $1,000 damage to his vehicle by scratching it while it was parked in the 5000 block of Williams Avenue.

Crews dig through night after deadly Okla. twister
Spotlights bore down on massive piles of shredded cinder block, insulation and metal as crews worked through the night lifting bricks and parts of collapsed walls where a monstrous tornado barreled through the Oklahoma City suburbs, demolishing an elementary school and reducing homes to piles of splintered wood.
