Police beat: 9/8/10

ASHLAND — The following information was taken from Ashland Police Department reports:

Robbery

‰A South Point man was arrested Saturday for allegedly robbing a juvenile girl at Bruce Apartments.

Casey Green, 23, allegedly stole $160 from the victim, then pulled her hair and hit her when she tried to catch him, police said.

Green was charged with second-degree robbery and was also served with two warrants for failure to appear. He was lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center, where he remained Tuesday.

Burglary

‰Police on Friday arrested Christopher Spradlin, 24, of the 3300 block of Bath Avenue, for allegedly burglarizing a vacant rental home in the 400 block of 34th Street last month. A refrigerator, stove thermostat and door to a furnace cover, all valued at $195, were stolen.

‰A woman living in Gla-Lo Apartments reported Sunday her apartment had been burglarized and 10 rings, worth a combined $2,000, were missing.

Theft

‰A woman on Friday reported two purses, school books and other items were stolen from her vehicle while she was at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility. The stolen items were valued at $1,160.

‰A man and a juvenile on Friday reported a GPS device, satellite radio receiver, cigarettes and $1,200 cash were stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in the 4700 block of Winchester Avenue.

‰A woman reported Aug. 31 someone had removed her purse from her car while it was parked at Texas Roadhouse The purse and contents were valued at $935. The victim also told police her credit card had been used at Speedway and at several locations in Ohio.

‰Police on Saturday arrested a 33-year-old Louisa woman who was allegedly seen entering three vehicles in the 2200 block of Carter Avenue and removing items from them. The woman was charged with misdemeanor receiving stolen property.

‰A man on Sunday reported the theft of two chainsaws, valued at $650, from his vehicle. The theft occurred while the victim was at Applebee’s.

‰A woman on Sunday reported someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked at an unspecified location on Mall Road and stole her purse. The purse and contents were valued at $742.

‰Early Sunday morning, a man told police a woman stole his cell phone while the two were involved in a sexual act in the 3100 block of Winchester Avenue. The woman, who is 22 and from Garrison, was later found with the phone in her possession and arrested on a misdemeanor receiving-stolen-property charge.

‰A woman on Monday reported someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked at Infusion Solutions, 200 Mall Road, and stole her purse.

‰MGA Auto Sales, 2454 Greenup Ave., on Monday reported someone had used a counterfeit check to purchase a vehicle.

‰A woman on Monday reported someone stole her purse from the ground beside her while she was at Central Park. The purse and contents were valued at $110.

‰A resident of Bruce Apartments on Monday reported the theft of a notebook computer valued at $500.

Criminal mischief

‰A woman living in the 400 block of 32nd Street on Saturday reported someone had vandalized her vehicle by throwing a brick against the glass spray-painting the word “dwarf” on the side of it.

‰ A woman living in the 4300 block of Chadwick Street on Sunday reported someone used toilet paper, mustard and ketchup to vandalize her home and vehicle.

Shoplifting

‰Walmart store security on Friday reported a man had concealed five DVDs, valued at $75, in his pants and fled the store without paying.

‰A 42-year-old Raceland woman was arrested Saturday at Walmart for allegedly attempting to steal cosmetics valued at $45.68.
